A complete train set made entirely of wood was given in memory of Seth Swingle, late of Osceola, by his widow Myrtle Swingle.

The train set is one of two that were constructed by Mr. Swingle. The technique used to create the train set is an excellent example of American craftsmanship. Mr. Swingle was well into his 80’s when he created this train set. Except for the metal hardware used to fasten the individual pieces together, the locomotive and cars are constructed entirely of wood, including numerous hardwoods. The different types of hardwood, include walnut, oak, ash and maple to name a few.
