Research has shown that the builder plate (American Bridge Co., Elmira, NY) was removed from the south end of the riveted thru truss bridge that spanned Pine Creek in Lycoming County, PA at Tombs by the Conrail salvage crew after the line’s abandonment in 1988. Tombs was a flag stop on the Pennsylvania Division (formerly Fall Book) of the New York Central Railroad. The bridge is made up of three spans for a total of 476 feet. It can currently be accessed via hiking or bike riding on DCNR’s Rails-to-Trails system.
