Dan B. – Fall Brook Railroad Website

The history of the Fall Brook Railroad has different attractions for different people.  For Dan B. it’s his family as they were intimately involved in its beginning.

In 1854 , his great-great-granduncle, John Magee, acquired the Corning and Blossburg Railroad, setting in motion a half-century of acquistion and innovation with rail lines that stretched from Lyons, NY to Williamsport, PA.  Begun initially to carry coal from his coal lands in Fall Brook, PA, his “Fall Brook Coal Company” gradually became the “Fall Brook Railway Company” operating over 257 miles of main track with more than 3700 cars.  His great-grandfather Daniel Beach – having had the good sense to  marry John Magee’s niece, Angelica Church Magee (daughter of John’s brother Hugh) – was Vice-President & General Counsel for the Fall Brook interests.
