Al – Secretary

Al gets great satisfaction volunteering with the TTS as a conductor.
Al grew up in Mansfield, PA watching steam locomotives rumble though town and witnessed the transition from steam to diesel in the 1950’s. He spent 40 years in aviation. A retired Army Officer, Al was an Army Aviator and Test Pilot and earned a commercial pilot’s rating. He spent two years in Vietnam and also served in Europe and the Middle East. Later, Al retired from Northrop Grumman Corporation as a Senior Field Engineer on the F-14 Program. He attended a TTS Open House a few years ago and was hooked. Al says, “Being a conductor has been a delightful experience because of the variety of people I meet. Surprisingly enough, as a TTS volunteer I have met people that I haven’t seen in 40 to 50 years. Besides that…I like trains!”
